Long-time bookstore chain, Popular, has finally jumped onto the Internet bandwagon in Singapore with 2 new websites - eduPOP, an e-learning website, and Epopular, an education community.

eduPOP is targeted at Singapore’s primary and secondary school students. The site mainly provides self-assessments papers and online learning programs, both of which are compliant with MOE’s syllabus. These programs allow students to learn at their own pace at home, while at the same time, allow parents to track their children’s performance – a boon in the current H1N1 pandemic.

Epopular on the other hand is more comprehensive because it’s targeted at the Singapore parents and educators as well. The EduBuzz and Family Focus areas dispense tips and cover key issues, from preschool education to managing money and health.

The Shopping Mall list various deals and coupons available from Popular and 3rd party vendors. What we found most useful was the education directory, which allows a person to search for all things related to education in Singapore, e.g. tuition classes.
